High pitched Hiss or Buzz from Flex remote control

Both of my Flex remotes make a high pitched buzzing or hissing sound. I received a replacement and it does the exact same thing. I'm 41 years old and this noise is extremely loud and irritating. I think these remotes may have a serious defect. Disappointed because otherwise the remote works well. Would be amazing to have Xfinity acknowledge this is a real issue and commit to a redesign for the remote.

Hello there, @XfinityUsername! Thanks for bringing this remote concern to our attention. That is not something I think I've heard about before, so I'd love to help out today however I can. Would you be willing to try another remote for your Flex TV Box? If so, you should be able to order one through the Xfinity Assistant. Please let us know if you need any further assistance though, and we'll happily take a closer look at things.

This is not an issue that is showing on our end. It seems to be related directly to the remotes you have. Please send us DM with your name and address.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the “chat" icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thank you, @XfinityKorie.

For my part, I will DM you and try a 3rd remote.

For your part, please acknowledge this is a known issue with Flex remotes. Others before me documented this issue for you nearly a year ago (link included below), but the thread was unceremoniously closed without resolution, and without adequate care.

I'm having the same issue, I just set up my replacement remote and it's still squealing every time it moves of a button is pressed. Not only is there other Xfinity threads from a year ago there's this thread on Reddit, and that's just on the first page of search results! This is clearly an a design issue with the hardware that is making it unusable for some people. https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast/comments/s8yydn/new_black_flex_remotes_suck/

Hello @Jimmiethesaint! Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:

  1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon
  2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)
  4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!

Hello, @jeremyd87. Let's see what we can do about getting you a replacement.

Could you send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service?

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
