Flex setup problems

I got the Flex today and hooked it up. When I turn on the TV and Flex, I get the initial Welcome message (in three languages). When I insert the batteries in the X15 remote, I get the three quick blue blinks. But when I press the Voice button (like the remote instructions say), the remote LED blinks red and the Flex doesn't do anything. The Welcome message stays on the screen for several seconds, then the Flex shuts off and the screen goes blank. If I power off/on the Flex (by unplugging power), the same thing happens again. When I press any button on the remote when the Flex is on, the remote LED blinks red. I tried the remote reset sequence (entering 981) and the remote shows green. But whenever I try to setup the Flex, I am unable to get past the initial three language Welcome screen. At this point, I don't know if the problem is with the Flex or the remote. Any suggestions?

Actually used the same cable...Its just that the Flex can auto detect the xfi or Xfinity supplied equipment easily. Its the own router/modem is what makes it difficult to set up. but anyways it finally worked so i'm happy.

This is an update from the original post:

I somehow got it to work, I'm not sure how. There were two things that I did:

1. I found a button on the bottom of the Flex box, under the arrows. With the Flex powered on but no Welcome message on the screen, I held down the button for about 10 seconds. I didn't see anything change. Then I unplugged the power, plugged it back in, and held the button down for about 15 seconds while the Flex powered up. I didn't get the Welcome menu. I powered off and on again.

2. When powering off the Flex box, I also unplugged the HDMI cable.

After doing these things, I powered the Flex back on, while the Flex was showing the initial Welcome screen, take a battery out of the remote and put it right back, press Voice button numerous times, and I finally got to the next setup menu. I was able to get the Flex box setup correctly, and also installed the Peacock app, which also worked.

So, problem solved, somehow.

Mine does'nt work even after leaving on for a week. Still stucks on Welcome screen. I even replaced the unit from xfinity store. Mine is non Xfinity provided router/modem (Although compatible per https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/#auth). I even plugged in the ethernet cable.  My router showes it assigned the ip (identified with mac address)

Did you try using the wps button on the bottom of the device ? See if that helps connect your flex device to your modem.

My tv s
Picture showed the home screen for Flex but continuously blinked. After several google’s and no luck troubleshooting with the app it’d scan and say it’s ok I decided to try a different HDMI cable. As far as I know the one sent was new but this completely solved my problem. Afterward I paired the remote to tv and sound bars one step. Hope that helps somebody 😊

HDMI cables are very delicate! it happened to me before.  I am happy that you are enjoying your flex box now.  If you happened to drive by a Comcast store, ask for another HDMI cable to have one as a backup.   Please don't hesitate to post here if you experience any other service issues.  Have a great weekend!

Finally it worked.... basically it finally got some updates via ota in the background (this I'm guessing) and gave me the next setup option on screen. The pressing of wps button under the box then pressing wps on router. Did the trick. This I had to do on a cheap router I bought just for this.

New x1 box not connecting to tv. Tried different hdmi cable, called tech support, even ran LAN wire to box for stronger connection. Box comes on gives me welcome message and then blacks out, and tv screen continuously flips between “signal received, signal lost”. Replaced first box with new one and still having the same exact issue.

Did you try a different TV or HDMI cord?

I had a similar issue, help scripts were useless.  Technician came and said, some TV on HDMI 1 port have screen saver properties that are NOT compliable with the Flex box.  He put it onto HMDI 4 and it worked just fine.  Now why do the online help and call center have scripts that tell you to try that.

I switched the cables, and power codes, the device and the remote, but not the PORT.  guess what, changing port solved the problem.
