Wow, this is certainly a unique situation @Stonedbaby22. Our team would be happy to help with the remote. My feeling is this remote is just possible broken and you will need a new one. Let’s investigate together. I will need to gather some account information from you. After we get finished, we can circle back around with the solution for our community.

Can you send us a private message with your full name, name of account holder (if different) and service address? To send a private message, please click the chat icon next to the bell in the upper right corner. Click the “notepad and pen” button. Send the full message to our shared support handle “Xfinity Support”. We look forward to hearing from you!

I think it's just a bad design and I bet people only within a certain age group or sensitivity can hear it. Is there maybe an app remote we can download so that we don't have to use the physical remote?

I’m having the same issue with the flex tv box remote. Should I bring this to my local xfinity store and replace it?

Hey all--I have always been sensitive to high frequencies.  I used to be able to tell the moment I walked into someone's home if they had their computer moniter(s) on (the old CRTs).  My Flex remote makes the high pitch whenever you press buttons.  Based on some research half the population can't ever hear this high and after 40 years old it's basically 90% cannot hear it.  Bottom line, this is likely just what it is and it's confusing everyone because most people can't hear it.

@user_ab91ca Same! If a light bulb is getting ready to burn out as well. Certain A/C units too. I noticed it with the remote when I was trying to go to sleep and the sound stops when the lights on it go out but when you move the remote it starts making the noise again.  My husband couldn't hear it at all. It was SOOOOOO loud to me.

I understand your problem. We had a chemist who would turn off some testing equipment at night. Some were supposed to be left

on at all times. He just had to learn to live with it if he wished to keep his job.

Ah, I came looking for a solution but it seems everyone here agrees. It stops only when I remove the batteries hahah, I guess that's that then

I just received the new flex with the new remote design and the high-frequency pitch comes on anytime you move the remote and the lights come on. Clearly it's happening to all if not many.

My remote also creates a high pitched buzz. It's the LEDs or LED driver chip causing it. It's BAD. I pulled the batteries and downloaded the app as soon as I could. I then discovered how useless the paperweight was. I have smart TVs and a Roku. They do literally the same thing with a better UI. It was free with my internet and I feel misled about the live TV. I thought it was going to be Xfinity streaming or Xfinity channels. Nope. Live TV is through Xumo, Tubi, and PlutoTV. "Included at no extra cost." That's like paying admission to a park and being told the air you breathe is included at no extra cost. It's free for everyone whether they have the Flex or not. This product relies on third parties to be of any use. Just get a Roku and send this back.

Whoever designed the UI for this thing has never seen a secure Wi-Fi password... Most of my time with this device was spent entering my Wi-Fi password, cycling through the numbers, then symbols just to get to capital letters and enter one, switch to lower case, enter a character or two or three, rinse and repeat. But I digress...Boxing it up and returning to store.

Mine makes a high-pitched sound non-stop, and an even higher pitch sound whenever you press any buttons on the remote. The sound is quite faint though, I have to be next to it to hear it, but it's still annoying. I thought only children can hear these sounds so I was quite surprised that I could hear them. Is the remote defective or do they all have this problem but no one could tell because no one else could hear it?

Exact same issue here. I’m 35 and don’t even hear that well, but these things are loud!
