thanks andrew. yes, i know it's the policy, but it doesn't seem to make sense, and why should i have to go to a 3rd party device, like roku, which i have used on some of my TVs, before seeing that comcast offered the flex device. the device is free with xFi internet, which i have, but not only, since i have xfinity tv, so it's unavailable to me. why am i penalized for paying more money to and having more services from comcast.

i'm mostly ranting about what seems to be a stupid and unfair policy. if i have xFi, and the box is available, i should be able to get it if i want it.

That’s the policy? Just add a Roku, if you’re streaming

The flex is totally different programming available vs x1 programming, that’s why they don’t mix. It’s all account related

i understand that, but if i have a new additional tv, and don't want to use an xfinity box on it, i still don't understand why i couldn't put a flex box on it, if i have xFi. i understand that it's mostly (if not completely) a business decision, but it doesn't really make sense. maybe somebody at customer service will read this, but i'm sure it won't go anywhere.

I agree. It's like being penalized for upgrading my services. I added tv and almost trippled my monthly bill yet they either want me to return Flex or start paying $5 for it each month! That is the opposite of rewarding loyal customers. Pretty rediculous.  Yes I will get a Roku which is better but that isn't the point, the point is it is a crappy way to do business.

Hello everyone!

I'd love to help clarify this situation.

Only internet-only customers are eligible for Xfinity Flex, but that is just a service feature. It comes with a single Xi6 (aka 4k wireless box). This box is also often called the "Flex box" because it comes with the feature.

While customers with cable may not be able to enroll in Xfinity Flex, you can still add a Xi6 to your account with an additional outlet fee. I personally have one with this type of plan setup! The additional outlet fee can vary by region, but it is not usually much, and it is really nice having a small coaster-sized 4k box on a TV instead of a large 4k DVR (which is the only other 4k alternative).

For any of you who would be interested in adding a box to your services, we would love to help and get one shipped out to you! Please send us a Live Chat with your first and last name as well as your service address so we can assist.

To send a Live Chat, please click on the chat icon on the top right of this page, next to the bell. Make sure to send the message to our singular handle "Xfinity Support" and we will get back to you ASAP.

I no longer work for Comcast.

My name is [edit: personal information] I am a new internet and flex customer not tv. I have dish network as my tv provider, my problem after technician left I wanted to watch my dish network and now cannot exit out of flex cannot find exit anywhere on settings anywhere on screen of the  peacock or flex box or remote anywhere.  how do I get out of thie flex box to my regular tv.  Went through the option to put it to sleep screen shuts off but as soon as turn on with tv remote the flex’s screen with all the streaming options come up. Also now cannot even turn off or on my tv with my dish remote. Cannot watch regular tv now. Tech never showed me if there is a way to shut flex box off

I appreciate you reaching out to us here on our community forum about your new Flex box, @user_89dae6! I'm so glad to hear that you joined us and want to make sure you're enjoying your experience with us :). It sounds like you may need to use your TV remote to change your input to the HDMI outlet that is connected to your cable box. Please give this a try and let me know if it helps!
