Flex and A/V Receiver

Hi. I'm new to Flex. I have a Sony A/V receiver for my surround sound. I know I can connect the Flex to an HDMI output on my TV, but all my other devices are on the video inputs of the receiver, then one HDMI output to the TV. All the other devices show up and are listed on my devices menu except for the Flex. During setup it was fine. The next time I turned the system on, the Flex is not shown. Any ideas? Keeping cables from being seen is my reason, so I'd like to be able to use the Flex like the others and not have it connected straight to the TV. I can't switch to it if it no longer shows up on the input screen. I've rebooted everything but no luck. 

**Edit** I found kind of a workaround. I can use the A/V receiver remote and pull up all the inputs on the TV and select the one that the Flex is connected to (Sat/Cbl). That's the only way I can switch to the Flex from another input.
