Crunchy Roll app Not Working.
For the past few days, any time I try to access the Crunchy Roll app, I get a blank screen, then Error Code APPS-04277. I've cleared my cache, I've Restarted multiple times, and even did a System Refresh, but nothing has helped. Every other app seems to work fine. Please help?

My most recent box lasted 22 days. Has a fix been found or do I need to go exchange the box again?

My latest cable box started giving the APPS04277 error again after 13 days. Has a solution been found yet or is exchanging the cable box the only workaround?

Only got 6 days out of the current box before the APP04277 error returned. How much longer is this going to continue to be a problem?

My most recent box worked for 12 days before the APPS04277 error message returned. Xfinity called me to say they were working on the problem after I traded in my last box. Has a fix finally been found?

@XfinityDemetrise oddly all the posts have disappeared from the forum on my iPhone. To answer your questions: Xfinity called me on September 8, 2026 at 1:17pm pacific time to say that they would be working on resolving this issue. They did not provide a timeline.

I have also encountered this issue for the past 3-4 days now with no resolution with the same error code.
I have:
-completed a System Refresh
-turn on/off the X1 TV box
-unplug/re-plug the HDMI and Power cord
-deleted the locally stored data
This has not resolved the issue at all. I am only encountering this issue on the Crunchyroll app. No other issues have been found, but the Crunchyroll app will not open citing error code APPS-04277.

At this point, it appears like we will NEVER be able to watch our beloved Crunchyroll. Not consistently. Is it because Xfinity considers it as a puny or nerdy app for those anime people? Are we, the anime-loving community, experiencing some kind of discrimination? Yes... I know my comment may be a little dramatic. And the Xfinity folks might chastise me on this forum. But, I've read this entire thread. I've been having the same issues as everyone else. It would be hilarious, if it wasn't real and ridiculously frustrating. Well, that's my two cents.

Thought I posted last week but seems... I hadn't? Or it didn't go? Or I'm blind and missed it. Anyway...
Last box lasted about two months. I've changed to the larger style box that has the coax cable ports on the back and been trying that. Almost two weeks and so far it's held up. Still too early to tell that it's working or not though.
If it fails, I'll be sure to come back and note it. If it doesn't fail after a couple months I'll try to remember to come back and note it.

I have been dealing with this same issue for a few weeks on Xi6 boxes. So far, I have tried:
Power cycling the cable box. (No effect)
Restarting the cable box. (No effect)
Refreshing the system. (No effect)
Deleting local app data / clearing cache. (No effect)
Connecting with ethernet cable instead of wifi. (No effect)
Calling Xfinity support and following all steps. (No effect)
Having an Xfinity technician come to the house and perform maintenance on the cable connection, update old equipment, and replace two cable boxes with new ones. (Temporary solution. One new box developed the problem in less than 24 hours, swapped with the second box. Second box eventually developed the error also.)
Contacting Crunchyroll support and following all steps. (No effect)
The problem keeps happening. At first, I was able to work around the issue by swapping the two cable boxes when the error appears. Using one box while leaving the one with the error connected to receive updates. The box with the error eventually starts to work again IF it's active to get updates. Then switch with the second box when that one gets the error. That worked for a little while, but now BOTH boxes have the error, so I'm left with just hoping one or the other starts working again.
As far as I can tell, it's the daily update of the cable box software that CAUSES the error in the first place, but also FIXES the error eventually. Since the customer can't tell the cable box to run the update manually, it comes down to waiting until the next day for for the automatic update and hoping that fixes the problem for a while. So far, no PERMANENT fix appears to exist.
I pay for Xfinity service. I pay for Crunchyroll. Somehow, that isn't good enough to get the product I'm paying for?
