Can't Activate Flex

I received my Flex box, and connected the power cable and HDMI cable to it. We have an old TV, though, so I have an HDMI to RCA converter that works with our Bu-ray. But, when I connect the Flex box to the converter, I'm getting no display on our TV, even though I made sure the Blu-ray displayed on the TV when it was connected to the converter. I even made a hard connection from the Flex box to our modem/router, thinking that the Flex box couldn't find the wireless, but that didn't work either. I've seen other forum posts about not seeing anything displayed on their TV, but there was no solution provided. Any ideas?

Hello @OkielnCO2, thanks for reaching out for help with your device activation. It's possible there may be an issue with HDMI to RCA converter working with the device. By chance does your TV have input options that you can toggle to ensure that you are tuned to the correct input after connecting the flex device?

@XfinityRyanE There is no toggle that I can find on the TV. But, when I connect our Blu-ray HDMI cable to the HDMI to RCA converter, it works fine with the TV. So, does that mean there might be a compatibility issue between the Flex device and the converter?

@OkielnCO2 The Flex and the Stream app are used by two different levels of services. The Flexbox is a free streaming platform we offer our internet-only customers to access streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime just to name a few. Those all need their own subscriptions to access but use only the internet, so no TV package is needed with the Flexbox. With the Xfinity Stream app, you do need to have an active TV channel lineup in your package to access that lineup from the Stream app. I would be happy to check on the level of service you have to see what your best option would be for you if you would like. If you could send our team a message in private with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us: • Click "Sign In" if necessary • Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon (upper right corner of this page) • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window • Press Enter to send your message

@OkielnCO2 That does seem to be the case. Since our flex boxes are one of our newest boxes avaiable they may not be compatible with an RCA converter. As I check out the device details more for the Flex box has no component options at all that are supported.

I'd be happy to simply use the xfinity streaming channel on our Roku device. But, I get an error message when I try to activate it. I can get the code to work, but then I get an error message that suggests I order a new Flex device. It seems like it requires our Flex device to be activated before we can access the xfinity Stream channel on Roku. Does that sound right? And, if so, is there any way to activate our Flex device remotely on your end, without actually getting it to work on our end?
