Yahoo Mail error message No Internet Connection

I have an issue with Yahoo Mail. I keep getting a message that there is no internet connection

but the internet is just fine. Yahoo Support told me they think it is an Xfinity issue. Any suggestions?

I realize that my previous reply is related to iOS/iPhone. Another person asked about an email problem with iPhone which is why my reply was iOS-specific.

I agree that there is still a problem with "No Internet Connection" popup msg. In my case it is win 10, firefox, Yahoo email.  Also, as previously mentioned, this happens to me every day at EXACTLY 3:00PM EST.

I think I found the culprit to this problem. I disconnected my direct connection to the Xfinity f1 router and used my wifi connection instead. No problem with internet now. I think the problem is with the connection to the modem/router.  I will try a different wire and see if that does the trick or just continue to use the wifi.

I have the same problem all the time. I know its a Yahoo problem because it only occurs when I am connected via ethernet line and not WiFi on my desktop. I sent Yahoo support a message but they didn't know the answer.  For some reason, Yahoo doesn't play well on a high speed connection (i.e. ethernet) but is fine at a slow connection (WiFi).

I've never had this problem using my wifi connections ( laptop win8 and iPhone). Both stay connected to my Yahoo email - no problem.

The problem "No Internet Connection" message and loss of Yahoo email connection only occurs on my Win10 PC which is connected to my xfininty x1 gateway via cat 6 ethernet cable.

However, I still don't think it's the cable because all my other open browser tabs still have internet connectivity.

I'm still looking for a solution - maybe it's a problem with just Yahoo email service. I get the message and drop Yahoo email at exactly 3:00PM EST every day. When I clear cookies from Yahoo and then go back to the Yahoo email page I get prompted for my login credentials. I login and then all is fine until the next day at 3:00PM

I didn't have this problem until the latest "full feature" Win10 update. So, I'm not sure that I can totally blame it on Yahoo. As you point out, using wifi seems to work fine. My iPhone has had the iOS updated many times and my laptop is running Win8. Neither have had any Yahoo email problems.

I do have a workaround for my PC but I may fire up Wireshark and trace the protocol to Yahoo to see if there is something in the protocol that Yahoo doesn't like.

The one thing that I saw on Wireshark was at exactly 3:00PM my Win10 PC sent a "Client Hello" packet to the Yahoo IPv6 address using TLSv1.3 protocol. Yahoo replied with a TCP "ACK"  followed by a TLSv1.3 "Change Cipher Spec"

TLS are windows security protocols. The first ones used ages ago were TLS 1.0 and 1.1

I think everyone is moving to TLS 1.3 but I didn't see it enabled when I looked at my Win10 PC network protocols.

I found this article but it doesn't seem to address the specific problem we are seeing. Take a look.

Would you be able to send this info to Yahoo Support to see if they can fix the problem at their end. Thanks.

Do you have a Yahoo email help contact address?  I've tried in the past but never got any reply.

If you can point me to a good contact then I'll send my captured Wireshark trace plus the information that I posted to you regarding TLS protocol.

Thanks. I sent a summary of what has been happening as well as the Wireshark .pcap capture file to the yahoo email addr you provided.

I'll let you know when/if I get a reply.

Anything new on this?  I am still having the same problem and about to change email providers because of it.  Or change from Xfinity may be easier.

Anything new for this problem?

Yahoo and Yahoo mail is the ONLY problem I have.  I have 400mps download on a NEW computer.  I have tried on both Chrome and Edge and both have the same problem.  Go to Yahoo and it takes 10 secs to load.  Every other website is less than a sec.

Sucks that they don't try to fix this.  There are MANY people with the same problem so they can't say it is us, or our computer.
