Yahoo and I map problems!
I managed to fix this by going into windows credentials and changing the IMAP and SMTP password to the app password I had to setup in yahoo.
Last week I logged into the Xfinity email portal and it said I could move my email. So I I followed the instructions and did not use the migration Tool. When I set my Outlook settings to match the Yahoo IMAP Settings I could not get my folders back. I can see all of my folders on Yahoo but for some reason yahoo is in a POP 3 format not IMAP.
So I called Yahoo tech support for mail and after an hour on the phone the person asked if I had received an email telling me to migrate. Which as I had not I told her so and I said I was directed and went through the Xfinity Portal. I was then told she could no longer help me as I never received an email to migrate, but yet the Xfinity web portal told me to transition after I logged on.
I have spent over two hrs online with Xfinity support through the chat on two different occasions. After being told I am a most valuable customer and having two agents try to upgrade me to a galaxy watch with a cell phone plan that I don't need, I get told it has been escalated higher and they will contact me with the results.
Now a simple search on google I can buy a program that will grab the mail in the POP3 format from Yahoo and put it into a PST file. But seeing as I pay a good price monthly I feel that I should not have to pay to have that done.

You never paid for Comcast email; if you were paying for it it would have been a line item on your billing statement.
Yes, you can buy Outlook, or you can use Thunderbird, or any other third party email app to get your @comcast.net email from Yahoo.
If you didn't use the migration tool for Yahoo, how is it you are getting your email? If you have indeed migrated, we can't help you now, either.
Some of your statements really don't make sense. Like, have you or have you not migrated to Yahoo after getting the transition email?

So if the email was bundled in the price I have paid since 1997 what is the difference if I paid for it!!
I can access my email via Outlook Classic not New Outlook and there is a difference!! After spending 45 minutes with MS tech support remoted in they could not fix the problem and get new outlook to work with Yahoo Mail! So why is Xfinity telling us to switch etc. when there are lots of problems and yahoo refuses to work with the New Outlook. A chimp could look at that and figure there is a problem.
And all of this is because Xfinity did not secure the email servers and everyone got hacked. Had they not gotten hacked and Sued everything would be the same.
I did transition my folders to yahoo but getting them back was a process as they were converted to POP 3 by Yahoo not IMAP. But I did manage to get them back. so never mind me have some more of the Xfinity cool aid.

The transition process doesn't convert anything between POP3 and IMAP. They're not types of folders, they are methods used to retrieve email. Like Comcast/Xfinity's email, Yahoo supports both. Users choose the one they want by the settings in their email program or app:
