Xfinity Spam Issues

I've been having a number of spam filtering issues lately:

1. Non-spam messages are going to spam, including messages from friends in my address book.  I've doublechecked to ensure the messages are genuine and they are.  Historically this has happened occasionally but lately there's been more non-spam than spam in the spam folder.

2. In some cases, I've opened up messages in my Inbox, closed them, only to find them in the spam folder later when I go to look for them.

3. I got fed up and turned my spam filter "off" on 9/25/20 and the above problems persist.

I also am having the same issues.  I sometimes wonder if Comcast/Exfinity even looks at these forums.

Hello,

If the addresses are added individually through address book they will directly go into your inbox and not spam. Note that these addresses must be in your Webmail address book for this to properly function, and the form should be "sender@domain.com" (without quotes) in the Email field for the contact. From your webmail, you should see an "Address Book" link along the top. It should also be noted this will not work for "Collected Addresses", only those you explicitly add to the Address Book.

Also feel free to private message me some examples for review.

Hello,

The above message also applies to your question.

I'm not sure what "collected addresses" means.  I've always added email addresses via cut and paste and the format is as you suggested.  In the past, I'd occassionally had legitimate messages go to spam but recently they've outnumbered real spam.  This isn't my fault, something is amiss!

Despite all this, why is spam still filtering even though I turned it off?

@ComcastSPAAbuse

Something is definitely wonky with spam filtering.  I'm on a very active Windows 10 forum and for years, email notifications always were delivered to my inbox.  As of last Wednesday afternoon, emails from that forum have been going to the spam folder in Xfinity Connect.  Marking them "not spam" did nothing.

Rather than call Comcast Security Assurance, I added the forum's email address to the address book as a single entity, not under "collected addresses".  That worked for a few days.  Starting earlier today, the emails started showing up in the spam folder again, even though the address was in the address book.  I have now turned off spam filtering and so far, the emails are going to the inbox.  If this changes, I will report back.

Comcast needs to get involved.  I really don't like having the spam filter off.

Even though my spam filter has been off for several days, I'm still having messages go to spam, both appropriate and non-appropriate.

I started a test three days ago, removing the email address that was incorrectly going to spam from the address book since that only worked for a few days.  I then turned the spam filter back on.  So far, it seems to be working properly again, at least for me.  I'll keep an eye on it for a few more days and report back.

As of right now, my spam filter seems to be working properly once again.  Spam is going to spam and legitimate emails are going to the inbox and not the spam folder.  Ir's been good for a few days so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

A day does not go by that I don't receive an email from "Comcast" or "Xfinity" that something is wrong with my account or some other BS. Today's email was for "unusual activity" that caused Xfinity to shut my account until I confirm my identity using the convenient link. Of course, when I log into my account (not using the link), nothing shows up as odd or out of place.

One habit I've gotten into is checking the From field of the email. Today's missive came from perle8006@comcast.net.  Seriously?

My concern is that Comcast/Xfinity does not seem to be doing anything about these emails because I continue receiving the. These are clearly phishing scams. I've tired of reporting them.

@Anon1280916  - -  don't know if you've already tried this but there is a special phone number for Customer Security Assurance dealing with phishing scams.
