Xfinity comcast.net emails transition to Yahoo

Is there any way to tell when your email is set for this transition? Can we do this on our own prior to reciving the email notice?  I have had this emial for over 20 years and do not like the idea of giving it up and having to go through the process of setting up a new one for all my contact, billings, etc.

Thank you

Out of curiosity, will the Xfinity Forums still be available when emails transition over to Yahoo Mail?

It's doubtful the Email forum will still exist because we no longer will have anything to do with Email.  The rest of the forums will still be here, though.

@Again So I wonder where we would post questions when emails transfer over. Does Yahoo have its own Email forums?

Not that I know of, Annabelle.  However I was informed that this forum will probably still function after the transition, but for how long wasn't specified.

Neither my wife or I have received notice from Xfinity nor Comcast that our email service has been moved from Comcast to Xfinity.

This morning both of our Windows/Outlook based computers using our xxxxxx@comcast.net email addresses started asking for passwords when trying to take any action in Outlook.  I could read all my previous email (stored on my desktop computer), but could not send or receive any new email. I also have 2 Samsung Android devices where I use Edison Mail as my email client. One of them (a tablet running Edison Mail) exhibits a similar "fail to connect" condition, while Edison Mail on my phone appears to be still be working properly.

When I went to Xfinity email website as suggested above I was able to get to a web-based representation of some of my Comcast-based email.  The inbox showed around 25 emails, some newer than the newest one shown on my Outlook/comcast email which shows more like 500.  Similar small numbers of emails in Xfinity/web vs. Comcast/Outlook in other folders like "trash" and "sent".  Many of my Comcast/Outlook folders are not shown at all on Xfinity/web mail.

What can I do to get my email working again?  If the only answer is "switch to Xfinity", how can I get my email working in Xfinity/Outlook.  We have been Outlook users since 1998 and would prefer to stay with Outlook.

BTW, when I hit "Post" on this item I was greeted with a screen showing 3 moving dots (implying to me "I'm working on it") that has been on my screen for about 15 minutes now.  I'll try pushing "post" again.
