Using Outlook (Microsoft 365) to send emails
I am suddenly not able to send emails from my desktop Outlook (Microsoft 365) using my Comcast email. The problem started yesterday, 1/5/24, without any indication as to why. I did not change my outgoing (SMTP) settings. I am able to receive incoming email to my Comcast email address via Outlook. The message in Outlook is "The connection to the outgoing (SMTP) server was dropped. Please check the outgoing (SMTP) server settings and try again." I have checked (and rechecked) the settings without success.

The concern is not "Community Center" help related. Topic moved here to the proper help section for assistance.

Hi, @user_59oyb2! Thanks for taking the time to visit XFINITY over our forums page for help with getting those emails to send correctly. I am sorry to learn about this experience. You've come to the right place for help. We understand you're having an issue with the 3rd party application Outlook when sending emails using your Comcast email on your desktop. To further troubleshoot, we need to confirm your login is successful through the Xfinity Email Portal. Are you able to log in to XFINITY email successfully at this time?

I just got this same problem with my comcast email on Outlook -- actually just 1 of my 3 comcast email accounts.
I had reset my comcast passwords for safety, and my accounts were working fine until a few days ago. My main email account stopped working while the other 2 were fine!
I couldn't find where to reset the password, until today-----
I opened Outlook, pressed Ctrl-Alt-S
A window popped up with a description, I clicked OK
There was a menu to add/edit, etc my accounts. I selected the problem account ( I have 3 comcast accounts -- 2 worked fine, 1 didn't work).
I input my new password, and clicked OK.

Then my Outlook did send/receive and I now have my emails!!
Maybe this will work for you?
