Unable to Use IMAP Account, POP Account Fails to Send

When attempting to use Thunderbird all I can do is receive emails in a POP account and can't send anything. My IMAP account was unable to send or receive, so I deleted it and attempted to add it back, but am unsuccessful. I get this error:

Unable to connect

An error occurred during a connection to localhost.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Thunderbird is permitted to access the web.

Everything was working fine yesterday, but began this behavior this morning. Not especially happy.

Does Xfinity not bother to monitor these forums, or do they just not care? Spending a LOT of money on their services - it would be nice if they paid attention.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out about the email box not working, dmcannon99! I am glad that the emails are going through once again. What steps did you need to take that were different from our steps? I can submite feedback to have the article looked at to ensure it provides the best possible help.

After spending a great deal of time, I was able to resolve both issues. The setup instructions from Xfinity/Comcast are not exactly correct and don't always match those required.
