Thunderbird Localhost error

I installed Thunderbird in an attempt to get away from the dreadful 'new outlook'. It worked great for a few days, then I started getting this error:

Unable to connect

An error occurred during a connection to localhost.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Thunderbird is permitted to access the web.

I have wasted way too much time trying to fix this issue. I tried disabling the firewall and changing all the settings I can find, but nothing works. getting quite annoyed.

Please help.

... Server Name: imap.comcast.net ... Authentication method   OAuth2 ...

To use Thunderbird to access Xfinity email, you can't use Oauth2. Their email systems do not support it. You have to use Normal Password.

Why is Thunderbird pointed to localhost?

What are your server settings for incoming and outgoing?

Incoming is:

Server Name: imap.comcast.net     Port: 993

Connection Security    SSL/TSL

Authentication method   OAuth2

Outgoing:

STMP.comcast.net  Port: 465

Authentication method   OAuth2

Connection Security    SSL/TSL

Is it possible that windows 11 is part of the problem?

Thank YOU!!!  I changed the authentication method to regular password, and Thunderbird connected right away. I honestly have no idea about localhost. It must be a default setting.

Thank you so much.
