Third-party Client Reminder

Hello,

Just a reminder that Xfinity requires all users who are using a third-party email client to utilize SMTP Authentication (or OAUTH if possible) when sending messages via our Residential Platform, using an Xfinity user account.  This could include desktop clients (e.g., Outlook or Thunderbird), mobile clients (e.g., Outlook Mobile, Gmail, iOS Mail, etc.), or devices such as printers/copies/security cameras.

Please be mindful that many clients have both inbound and outbound settings in separate configurations.  If you change your password, you must change the password in both places.

In order to properly authentication, your application must also use TLS (SMTPS on port 465 or STARTTLS on port 587).  Please see the link below on how to configure common third-party clients:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email

And you may need to adjust a setting to enable third-party client access for your account:

I am an Official Xfinity Employee.
