The Same Email Received on Two PCs Goes to Trash on Both PCs When Deleted on Only One of Them

I do not know whether this is an email issue or an XFINITY issue.

The problem is that email deleted on one of our 2 PCs goes to trash on both PCs.  This occurs on on the other PC even when the email was not deleted on that PC.

This has not occured before through many years before, but only recently.  Is there any recent changes in Outlook or XFINITY email that would account for this????

Thanks.

Thanks for the information on change from IMAP setting to POP3 for incoming email.  As long as my wife will put up with what IMAP is doing, I think I will stay with it.  As a retired enterprise network engineer, I prefer more secure settings to lesser ones.

This case is resolved.

Do you have the account enabled in Outlook with IMAP?  If so, what you are describing is normal.  With IMAP everything is synced, and anything you do to an email on one device will be duplicated on any others you use to access the account.

Thanks.  What should it be instead?
