Temporarily blacklisted IP Address Using the iPhone mail client

This keeps on happening to me when I use any WiFi when I am traveling. I have multiple Comcast.net email accounts that work fine on cellular or when I am home. When I travel and have to connect to another WiFi, due to a bad cellular signal I get prompts to put my password in for each email accounts. If I cancel these messages I then see an error that says “Temporarily blacklisted IP Address”. I know I can use a web browser for accessing the comcast email account but I shouldn’t have to.

does anyone have a permanent fix for this?

thanks

nsochie Hi there! Thank you for reaching out. You may want to try this to see if it helps; you'll need to log into Xfinity Mail (https://www.xfinity.com/email)

Settings → Email Settings → Security

Make sure Third Party Access Security is enabled

Outside of that, there really isn't anything else we can have you try. The blacklisted IP you're seeing is not because of the device you are using but is often the connection you are using when checking mail as a security precaution.

Funny it only happens with my Comcast email, but not my gmail or my @me.com email address.

So it is a Comcast issue and you should be able to do something about it.

It is very frustrating having to work around the issue with multiple email addresses.
