Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for (email address).' reported error (0x800CCC0E)

Hi, my Outlook has never really worked since I set it up quite some time ago. I get this message and here's the rest:

Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for (my email address) reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for (my email address) Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

In addition, the Internet email box keeps popping up which has the server name: smtp.comcast.net plus my comcast email address and my updated password.

Appreciate any insight!

@Again thanks for the links but I must be missing something...I don't see any resolution at either link just more questions.

The link with the older post about fixing the error code does not work for me. I do not have these steps available to me:

"on the Account settings window, choose your IMAP account and click Repair > Advanced options and select the checkbox before “Let m repair my account manually“ > click Repair, then you will be able to edit the Incoming server and the Outgoing server settings for your IMAP account."

It seems like Comcast doesn't want you to be able to use Outlook?

@Again actually I somehow stumbled on this repair piece (just not the way the poster wrote it out) and after I went through the steps manually I got the message: Something went wrong. We couldn't long on to the incoming (IMAP) server. Please check your email address and password and try again.

@Again I just got a new laptop and haven't finished setting everything up yet. I opened Outlook on there, I decided to click "forgot my password", was able to reset it, add a couple other email addresses (some comcast, some not) and all my folders synced. I decided to open Outlook on my old desktop and everything magically synced. Even though I changed my password on my old computer the box kept popping up but it wasn't saying there was an issue with the email address or password. Maybe it was as simple as that. We will see how it goes.

@Again but.....a lot of my folders did not sync to Outlook from my Comcast email. So that is still something I need to figure out.

@dwhite021329 We appreciate you providing updates for us and for checking out the awesome links that @Again provided you. I'm sorry to hear that you are still having some issues with syncing folders to your Outlook. I'd like to clarify, when you set up the Outlook with your Xfinity email did you configure it using IMAP or POP?
