Strange characters in the password box on xfinity sign in (and email sign in)

When I try to sign in to my xfinity account the password box has a long stream of strange characters covering the entire box.  If I click on the 'show' button the characters go away, but my typing is visible, not the usual dots.  I find that if I 'click and drag' from the within the right end of the box all the way to the left I can then type my password in with the dots appearing underneath the characters.  Is this some kind of new security feature by xfinity or is there something wrong?

Hi there, @polishandproud. Thank you for reaching out to us via our forums. This is not something that is shown on our site. Have you tried clearing cache and cookies or verified if there is a saved password on your browser? This can be caused by a saved password as it does show up depending on the browser that you use as a feature.

@XfinityEdgardo​ Thank you Edgardo for replying to my post.  As of a couple moments ago, the problem seems to have resolved itself.  The last 3 times I tried the email today gave me 'clean' password boxes without the added characters.  I never ever save passwords and I didn't try clearing the cache and cookies because that seems to me it would indicate a problem just on this pc.  The problem happened to me on 3 different computers and two different browsers (Firefox,Edge).  My main concern was that it was caused by something on the Comcast servers or that it might have been a hack or a virus.  It would be nice to know what the actual cause was.  Thanks again for your reply.

To be completely upfront about this, I haven't personally seen this before and I have not seen this as a common issue or a known issue. It could have been a glitch. Please let us know if this happens again. While we are still connected is there anything additional I may assist you with on your account such as billing or your package?

No, nothing else Dena.  I just checked the email a few minutes ago and it's still 'clear'.  No characters.  As you say it must have been a 'glitch'.  If it happens again I'll make another post.  Thanks for your reply.....polishandproud
