smtp.comcast.net - unable to send emails
I've had issues with connecting to smtp.comcast.net on my Apple phone (iphone 16) all day. Nothing has changed except I'm constantly getting popups requesting the password, which is correct, and is not working for logging in. I can log in online to xfinity email. when attempting to send through the Apple mail app and through my iMac mail app. I changed my password and that didn't help. I'm connected to port 587, host name smtp.comcast.net, SSL is enabled, authentication is "password". I attempted to ping smtp.comcast.net but I get a request timeout. When I attempt to ping google's smtp server, no issue.

"smtp.comcast.net" doesn't respond to ping, you have to use telnet (2xx lines are server responses):
telnet smtp.comcast.net 587

Rebooted the Xfi gateway and everything seemed to straighten out. After having xfinity for 19 years, this is the first time I've had email issues.
