Settings for Thunderbird?

Hey!

Trying to set up my new comcast email on my existing Thunderbird.  I am using Win 10, Thunderbird 102.2.1.

I found this page:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/setting-up-thunderbird?

But the settings given do not work, alas.

When I use the recommended settings, I get this error message:

I did definitely check the password is correct, yes.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong and help me set it right?

I've been using Thunderbird for years with my previous ISP, with no problems.  And I can get the comcast email on the webmail system, but I want to go back to using Thunderbird for everything.

Thank you

...  I get this error message: ...

The protocol, host name, and port must agree with each other. Here you've specified the POP3 protocol and port, but the IMAP hostname.

If you want to use POP3, specify POP3/pop3.comcast.net/995.

If you want to use IMAP, specify IMAP/imap.comcast.net/993.

See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email. And if you haven't already also see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/third-party-email-access.

AHHH you're BRILLIANT!

It was the security setting - the one detailed on this page.  That is defaulted to unchecked, and once I ticked the box and redid everything in Thunderbird, I got a success notice.

Thank you very much, my friend.  Have a lovely rest of your week!
