Sent test e-mail message: The server responded: 421 resomta-ch2-16v.sys.c
For the last 30-45 days I have had intermittent e-mail issues with connecting a 3rd party email client (eM) to Comcast mail. Mostly the failures were SMTP-related, and I was able to reset things - mostly by rebooting the gateway, etc. However, the issues have increased to the point that I cannot even do a simple creation of an account without errors. Thought maybe it was the client app, but in using MS Outlook 2013, I am not even able to successfully create and test one new account. It says it successfully completed logon to the IMAP server, but then gives the error message in the Subject line... which I think is being truncated somehow before it spits it all out. I have checked and re-checked the various settings, including a Comcast-provided cheat sheet for Outlook 2013, all to no avail. I know that 993 / SSL and 587 / TLS are acceptable ports / encryption settings, so I don't know what else to check. One time I also received an "Alert" from the server - IMAP 1002 - and that was all it said. No hex error to track down at MS site...
ANY and ALL help greatly appreciated - thanks!
