Send Message Error

Using Thunderbird v140.3.1esr (aarch64) on a MacBook, I'm getting this error while trying to send email:

Send Message Error
Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net timed out. Try again.

I have SMTP set the same as it has been, port 465, smtp.comcast.net

I can send an email from the browser client and from Apple Mail on my iPhone.  What is going on???

I'm still having the error, but not with Apple Mail on both iPhone and iPad.  Changed the SMTP port to default 465 and it didn't change the error.

Why is the SMTP server down?  I need to send some emails from my laptop.

steve_k1 Have you checked as well if you are able to send the emails from the Xfinity email portal on your laptop? You can also try to toggle the third-party access to try to refresh the connection with Thunderbird as well.
