"save as file" does not work

Xfinity notified me that email storage is 98% full. I have downloaded a large number of emails directly from "connect.xfinity.com" to my computer, then I deleted them off Xfinity.  At their site, the option for "save as file" worked initially, but no longer does and I can no longer download emails in bulk other than 3-4 at a time.  Have attempted a large number of troubleshooting steps, including a 2 hour phone call with Xfinity.  In the end, I was informed that their email team and agent I was talking to could not help me.  The message came across as tough luck but keep paying us money for poor service!

If xfinity limits the amount of data in email, it should provide a way to download emails.  While I am a "Diamond" customer, whatever that means, I am considering dropping xfinity altogether for other options for an ISP.

FWIW, the Save as file is not working for me at all, for even two emails.  Given the migration to Yahoo! Mail, this may be something that has been disabled.  Have you considered using a third party email client to download your email to, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple/Mac Mail, etc.?

The goal is to remove emails in storage on xfinity after I have saved/downloaded emails to a saved folder.  The issue is not with Outlook.

I understand.  Does Outlook show the saved folder?

If you have been fetching your email to Outlook, are you using POP or IMAP?  Have you deleted any of the email fetched by Outlook?  Did you choose to leave a copy on the server when you fetched your email?

I realize you're trying to a.) save your email and b.) gaining space because of the 10GB limit.  If Outlook mirrors what you see in webmail, you can accomplish the same thing in Outlook.

"Does not work" doesn't tell us much. What happens when you try to use "save as file"?

Emails appear to download to a zip file. When I attempt to open the zip file, a message states its "invalid". This worked previously. Troubleshooting steps that have failed: Clearing cache, flushing DNS resolver cache, restarting the computer, turning off antivirus software, turning off the file wall, use of different web browser, use of an incognito web browser.

user_p8dsjn, we do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. As @Again mentioned, this feature may now be limited due to the migration to Yahoo Mail. Unfortunately, besides downloading 3- 4 at a time, we do not have any workarounds to provide.

Have you received an invitation from Comcast to upgrade your email account?
  1. Sign in at connect.xfinity.com and accept Yahoo’s terms of service.
  2. Enter your email or phone number to receive notifications about the migration.
  3. If some emails are incompatible, you will receive a link to download them separately.
You will retain your @comcast.net email address, but future access will be through Yahoo Mail only. Expect proactive communications from Comcast regarding the migration process.

... When I attempt to open the zip file, a message states its "invalid" ...

What are you using to open the file, how big is it, and how many messages does it contain?

I just ran "save as file" on the contents of my "connect.xfinity.com" Trash folder (192 messages, 3.1MB .zip file). I don't have a ZIP utility but the Windows 11 OS running on my desktop PC expanded the file with no problem. Don't know what to tell you . . .

https://www.google.com/search?q=open-xchange+webmail+save+as+file+zip+file+is+invalid has some additional suggestions.
