Safe List

From on-line Xfinity documentation: "

The Email Safe List in the Xfinity Connect web portal lets you create a list of email addresses, mailing lists and domain names from which you wish to receive messages.

When Email Safe List is turned on, you’ll only receive email from those on the Safe List; all other emails will be filtered out and won’t be delivered."

There's are problems with this statement: 1) a fully qualified PERSONAL email address (i.e. [Edited: "Personal Information"]) works properly. However, a fully qualified institutional email address (i.e. [Edited: "Personal Information"]) does not past through the safe list and is discarded. Not good!; 2) mailing lists don't work and cannot even be entered into the list; 3) domain names alone are not accepted.

I spent nearly 40 minutes talking to India? attempting to resolve this issue. If an institution cannot be added to the safe list and thereby passed through to the inbox, this makes the safe list completely unusable. Also, there are circumstances wherein multiple people from an organization need to contact me - using their domain name alone would be most beneficial as might be the case with a financial or manufacturing institution.

Am I doing something wrong? If only individual fully qualified personal names are passed via the safe list, may I respectfully suggest this feature should simply be eliminate because it make the email system worthless. When the safe list is active, only personal email passes through. That means all other content, regardless of intent or importance, is discarded from the server... Therefore, the safe list could never be used for any practical purpose.

Please advise if I'm doing something wrong. Regards, Deidre [Edited: "Personal Information"]

Thank you for taking the time to reach out over Xfinity Forums @user_e45kle. Your feedback is certainly valuable to us and I will be sure to pass it along. It sounds like using the email safe list might not be the best option for you. We do have a few other ways to help make sure your inbox stays safe and clean. Have you had a chance to look over this document Set Email Filters or Spam Filters — Xfinity Connect Help. You might consider using spam filters or an email filter system instead. I understand it might not be ideal, and I apologize. If you have any questions our team will be on standby to help.
