Retention of old Comcast email address

Will I still be able to access my old Comcast email address if I change my userid (and by default my email address)? Ideally I would like to change my userid and then still access the old email so I would know which accounts I need to update to the new Comcast email. Is this even possible?

Can you clarify-----do you mean if you change the existing user ID?  Because if you do that it will change the email address.  Also, if you change it, the old ID is suspended for 90 days, and then is dropped back into the pool of available IDs for any other Comcast internet customer that wants to claim it.  If you want to maintain access to the old user ID, leave it alone and create a secondary account for yourself with a new ID.  You could then change to new one to be the Primary account if you wanted to.  Is that what you want to do?  Or something else?  You need to provide more information about what you want to do.

Hey there @user_b4b767! Our awesome expert Latoque got here first and is correct when providing the information about changing the username associated with the Comcast email address. They also provided a great solution to obtain another Comcast email address without losing your current email address. Let us know if you have any additional questions or if this was an acceptable solution.

@XfinityBradM and Latoque for your responses. I agree adding a second email would be the best solution. Can you provide me the link to do so. Previously I tried to add another email by adding another role to my account and it created a conflict when it asked me to verify my cell phone number. Thank you!

@user_b4b767 You're very welcome for the assistance! You can find step-by-step instructions to add new users/email accounts outlined here. You will want to select the Viewer option when selecting the type of user to add. You can name it anything in the first and last name fields, however, the username field is what the email address is generated with. It will ask you/the user to verify more information for the roles with more permissions such as the Manager role.
