Requests to reset password

A week ago I kept getting error messages in my Outlook mail that my xfinity email passwords were incorrect. It wasn't until later in the day that I received messages requesting me to reset my xfinity email passwords (I have several - Primary plus several secondary). I accessed the emails via the xfinity website. I reset all my passwords as requested and reset my Outlook accounts and my Samsung phone email app to use the new passwords and by the next day everything was working again. Today I see the same thing happening to one of my secondary accounts. Why since I just changed my password, am I being asked to reset again? In order to get into my email, I had to reset the password. When I enter the new password in Outlook, the sign in fails and says try again later. Any idea what may be going on?

Good afternoon @user_BJV712, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums about your email issues. We appreciate you taking the time to reset your passwords and are sorry to hear that the same issues is now happening on your secondary accounts. Are you able to access your secondary account email on the Xfinity website? Are you still experiencing password reset issues on your primary accounts? Rest assured, our team is here to help however we can.

We have the same problem, repeated requests to reset our passwords.  How do we stop the vicious circle?

Greetings, @aarons2! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your email passwords, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

If you've been able to confirm your password has been updated on the Xfinity website, but you continue to receive password errors from other programs, your browser may still be autofilling the old password. My phone was doing this to me for a week until I went in and cleared out the old info. Are you getting errors after typing in your password, or does it log you in automatically and then give you the error?

So, these requests to change one's password are real?   Looks very suspicious to me.   Can someone clarify this?

Anon1012574 Great question, it is always a good idea to be cautious when it comes to your online security. If you receive a request to change your password and you want to make sure you are using an approved link, you can find instructions to change your password at the following website https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/changing-or-resetting-your-password.
