Recent blizzard of spam and Comcast spoofing...
Posted Jan 11, 2025: In the last three weeks (since the end of 2024) I've been receiving a huge increase in Comcast spoof emails claiming I have to do this or that or my email will be cut off or due to recent upgrades I have to click on this link, blah blah blah... I keep sending them to "missed-spam@comcast.net". Not sure what that will do, but the volume seems to be increasing. Now, before anyone (like Comcast) gives advice on what I should do to solve this Comcast problem, let me ask what Comcast is doing to solve this problem of spoofing their business...? And, to preclude any off-the-shelf "advice" about "have I turned on this or that filter, etc., etc., yes to all the above, as usual. This isn't my first rodeo. Comcast, please do better at identifying and siloing emails that purport to be from you...

Hello, @GaryMak. Thank you for your post. We are aware of the increase in Spam messages. Unfortunately, it is a constant fight. Without getting too far into the weeds, one tactic our spam filter uses is a domain's reputation score to help filter potential spam. Unfortunately, a lot of spam comes from unauthorized access to that domain. You might be amazed by how many of the issues we deal with on the internet circle back to an insecure password.
Forwarding spam to our missed spam email address, is really appreciated and the best thing you can do to help. It allows us to analyze what emails are getting through the filters, so we can improve them.
For phishing emails (and spam sent from a comcast.net account), we ask that you copy the full email headers. Once you have done that, paste them and the message in an email and send it to abuse@comcast.net.
Regarding spoofed email addresses, there is no way to stop a bad actor from spoofing an email address. This is why it is critical to make sure that it shows as a verified sender.
