Primary User unable to change user ID of other user
I am the Primary user on the account. My wife wants a different email address. I have been trying to change her username, but it keeps telling me " unauthorized role to update user".
I can , and have , changed two other users passwords, and was even allowed to change my wifes name and change it back.
Next to deleting her id completely, whats going on?

Hi. I’m having the exact same problem. Did you ever figure out the solution?

I am also having a miserable time trying to manage a valid user's email to change the email. I am the account owner and primary on the account. I tried the stupid Xfinity chatbot and it is beyond worthless; continues to give me the same 4 answers no matter how I phrase the question. This really shouldn't be this difficult!!

You have to change the Admin rights to the account you want to update. SO, I, as primary user, had to "transfer admin rights" to the account. Log out, log back in as the user I wanted to change, then update. I did get a funky error message, which was because the name I wanted was taken. Once I entered something that was taken, the change took. THEN, I transferred user rights back to my account.
Seems odd that the primary user can't change user IDs.

How do you change Admin rights to a different user? Every time I try to change the username of one of my users, I get a message that says “Unauthorized role to update user”!:-( And every time I delete the user with this error message, when I refresh the page, the deleted user shows back up as a “Viewer”. When I try to delete that same user again, it says “Looks like something went wrong
Please reload the page and try again.”! And when I click on the “Reload” button, the same User account shows up again! So, it is a endless “reload page” loop!:-( It’s driving me insane and even Comcast Tech Support Chat Reps aren’t able to help!:-(

I should have included that part!
You have to log in as the primary user. Once logged in, click on My Account, then Users, then click the "edit" button next to the primary user. Once there, you'll see the "transfer admin rights" on the right hand side of the user's name.
Remember- onc eyou transfer admin rights, you'll have to log back into the account of the user who now holds the rights to transfer them back.
Hope that helps!
