Outlook client will not authenticate with Comcast server after changing password on both Desktop and Android phone
Problem occurred after I changed my Xfinity email password for security reasons and now neither my Win 11 desktop nor my Android will connect using Outlook client.
1) I've updated the authentication password in Outlook with both apps.
2) I've removed and readded my comcast account from Outlook to avail.
It simply does not allow the authentication to occur.
3) I'm able to easily add my Gmail address to outlook.
4) I can log into my comcast email using Xfinity's web UI, so I know the password is correct. The web UI does use a two-level authentication process, so I'm wondering if comcast email server is looking for something that outlook does not understand. That would be something new in their handshake and bizarre.
5) I've read multiple other treads on this forum recommending, cleaning up email cache, trying multiple combinations of recommended port #'s etc. No joy
6) I'm not using VPN but that should not matter, unless either Xfinity or Microsoft has changed something.
7) I've rebooted my internet, workstation and android.
8) I've validated my Xfinity Email Security settings allows Third Party Access Security
I'm at a loss what to try next. After going through Xfinity and Microsoft forums, watching multiple You-Tube video's I have run out of ideas on what to test. Knowing the userid/password ID's are correct I'm stumped

Well everything is now working 5+ hours later. I suspect the core problem is Xfinity has some caching of passwords amongst their email servers. I did nothing different 5+ hours later trying to attach comcast email to my Outlook client. Oh well if anyone else has problems connecting to comcast.net after changing their passwords I would recommend opening a ticket with Comcast and be patient.
