Outgoing Mail Server Not Recognized
I have used Comcast as my ISP for over 20 years with 3rd party apps Apple Mail & Outlook with no problems. Now, all of a sudden Comcast does not recognize my outgoing mail server in these apps. My Xfinty web email works fine. When I tried to re-add my Comcast account into the 3rd party apps it will not load. I keep getting the error message "does not recognize my account or password". I have tried everything humanly possible including contacting Customer Security Assurance (CSA) Team directly and spoke to 4 different people. All to no avail. Still have this problem. Now, it seems my only solution is to switch ISP's but that would be a nightmare for my business activities. Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you for reaching out, @hoosiernorth If you're using a third-party email application such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or a mobile mail app, you may need to enable Third-Party Access within your Xfinity email settings. In some cases, external email client access can be disabled, preventing your email from syncing properly.
Enable Third-Party Access
Sign in to your Xfinity email account through the Xfinity Connect web portal.
Select Settings (gear icon).
Navigate to Security or Account Management settings.
Locate the option labeled Third-Party Access Security or Allow access to my email through third-party programs.
Enable the setting and save your changes.
Restart your email application or remove and re-add the account.
Verify Your Email Settings
If the issue persists, confirm that your email client is configured with the correct server settings:
Incoming Mail (IMAP)
Server: imap.comcast.net
Port: 993
SSL: Enabled
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
Server: smtp.comcast.net
Port: 587
SSL/TLS: Enabled
Additional Checks
Verify that your email account password is current.
Make sure there are no security alerts or account restrictions on your Xfinity email account.
Test your email through Xfinity Webmail to determine whether the issue is with the account itself or the third-party application.
If you're still unable to send or receive messages after completing these steps, please let us know which email application and device you're using, and we'll be happy to help further.
