If the internet is out at your location, you will be unable to speak to a support agent.  They can do absolutely nothing to get your internet back.  If it is down because another party is working on the lines, xfinity will not be able to even tell you when it will be back up.  If you do go to AT&T, you will regret it, as they are down far more often than xfinity.

When your service goes down, the first thing you should do is reboot your gateway. If its  still down, check the xfinity outage map on your cell phone:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/statusmap

If there is an outage in your area, it will show there, and if it is scheduled maintenance, it should have an estimated time of being back.

If no outage is listed at your location, you can report it on the same site.

Once again, speaking to a support agent during an internet outage will serve no purpose.

The concern is not "E-mail" help related......... Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
