oauth.xfinity.com took too long to respond

For the last few days, I've been trying to get to the Xfinity sign in screen on two different computers, and on 2 browsers per computer. When I click 'Sign In' on https://my.xfinity.com/?cid=cust, I get this error so cannot even try to sign in. I have reset cache and cookies, and have rebooted - nothing helps.

This site can’t be reached

Try resetting/rebooting/power cycling your modem/gateway. I don't understand why, but I had the same problem a few weeks ago and resetting the modem seemed to correct it.

Thanks Bruce! Oddly, it just started working - no idea why. I'll keep this in mind in case it happens again.

Hello, I've been having this problem for over a month. I have tried so many things as you will see below.

I am only able to access my account and email if I connect my laptop through my VZW hotspot. Any time

I am on Comcast's network, I can't get the authenticate page. Here is what I have done:

I noted about a month ago that I was unable to access my email,
and my wifi tv's were unable to launch my xfinity stream app.
I tried power cycling both my xfinity modem and my netgear router.

Still unable to access email or xfinity stream.

The failure message on my email is: err_connection_timed_out

I then tried to ping oauth.xfinity.com.
I then tried to traceroute oauth.xfinity.com

Both of these failed.

If I hotspot my phone and wifi into it, I am able to access my email.
However, this is using up my data at a much greater than normal
rate and I will shortly reach my throttling point.

If I bypass my netgear router and use the xfinity modem wifi
or connect directly to the ethernet port on the modem, I am unable
to access my email.

Basically, anytime I try to access comcast servers via comcast's network,
I cannot. I replaced my prior modem with a brand new modem, I am
unable to access my email.

In reference to the auth server, there are 3 possible conditions that
are occurring here:

1 - The auth request is never making it to the server
2 - The auth request is making it to the server, but either failing
or not being responded to
3 - The auth request is replied to, but that reply never makes it
back to my pc

In all of the above cases, the end result on my end would that
the connection times out.

Because the pings and traceroute do not complete, I believe it
is scenario 1 above.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem. Did you ever get a resolution?

@user_65ae66 yes, i did. Comcast said it was a signal quality issue at my premise. That's BS, packets don't get dropped in  PA because of a wiring issue in MA. What i believe fixed is that after they made a wiring change they reprovisioned my modem, and that fixed it.

Yes. They claimed that it was a wiring/ signal quality issue. That's BS. What fixed it was that they reprovisioned my modem.
