Not receiving most emails: other comcast.net, gmail

@ComcastCSAEmail I am not receiving emails from my wife's comcast.net account, my son's gmail, and some other daily emails I expect, for example from mercurynews.com and nextdoor.com. I do receive a few other emails, for some reason. I disabled the spam filter and still cannot receive test emails from gmail but I can successfully send test emails to my son's gmail. The missing emails do not appear in my webmail in both Chrome and Firefox browsers, so it appears to be a server problem. Every email showing in my webmail inbox does reach Outlook, so that configuration should be fine. Outlook's "test account settings" passed for both receiving and sending in two separate tests, but curiously only once did the test email show up in my webmail inbox. My son did not receive anything about his test emails bouncing back from comcast so we have nothing else to go on.

I'm the OP's son. This problem is resolved now. I'll explain in case it might help anyone debug a similar problem.

It turns out my dad added a rule in Outlook to permanently delete emails without any conditions, so almost everything was deleted by that rule. The ones that remained were processed by other rules run before that one, so they escaped the issue. So if you're helping someone with this problem or ran into it yourself, do a sanity check that none of your email app's rules are the cause.
