not receiving emails

I am not getting important emails from my daughters school.  I tried working with the school, they said the emails are being marked as spam.  But, they are not in my spam folder.  I have added the email address to my contacts.  The emails seem to be generated from some kind of mass notification system.  I get SOME of them, but not all of them.  Any ideas?  What can I try?
