New version of email?

I've gotten a "Final Reminder" email telling me:

"The Classic version of Comcast Email will be replaced by our new version.  So it’s time to verify, before you lose your email access."

This is followed by a link labeled "Restore Log-in".

Is this legitimate, or a scam?  I've never gotten any information about a new email version other than these emails.

It's a phishing email, a scammer attempt to steal login and account information. If you check your email with Comcast's Xfinity Connect webmail ( ), look for the XFINITY Verified Email logo next to any message that claims to be from Comcast/Xfinity (see ).

If the logo is missing when you view the message in webmail, the message is not from Comcast. Unfortunately, AFAIK the logo is not present when you view one of their messages in an email app or program, not in even Comcast's own email app. It's only visible when you use their web email site.

Samples of recent phishing messages can be found at under "Top Phishing Scams".

To report a scam email to Comcast, follow the "Report Spam and Phishing Emails" link on and scroll down to the "Report Phishing Emails" section.

I actually use to view my emails, so I checked some of my saved Xfinity emails, and they all do have the logo, as do the forum-related ones I just received today.  The email I posted about (supposedly from "Admin") didn't have this logo, so I will ignore it as spam.

BruceW, thank you for your assistance!
