My Email Has Been Hacked

My email has been hacked is being used to send spam on a daily basis. What can I do to stop this? What can Xfinity do to help me stop this problem. Auto Forward is off and nothing is being forwarded. There are no Filters set for the account

Have you tried changing your password?

- First thing I did was change my Password.

- Then I filed a complaint via Chat and

- Then I sent four emails along with their full headers to abuse@comcast.net

BTW - There was no Auto Forwarding set nor any type of Auto Reply or other setting out of the ordinary.

Are these emails showing up in your Sent folder?

NO, not showing up in my sent folder now but I could have sworn they were there a few days ago when I sent my reports to "Abuse" as that is where I think I found them and not the trash. They are not in my trash either as of today. Possibility that Comcast has stepped up and taken care of the problem as I have not seen one come across my Inbox in two days now.

No More Spam is being sent from my email. It would have been nice to have heard from someone/anyone at Xfinity telling me that this was taken care of or that someone was paying attention...some type of acknowldgement fo the problem andmaybe how I could avoid it in the future etc.

If the emails are not in the Sent folder, it is likely your email address was being "spoofed".  It's easy for spammers to make it look like your account is sending out junk when it's not.  If that is the case there is nothing you can do to prevent it.  Usually, a spammer will abuse someone's email address for a couple  of weeks and then move on to a different one.
