My email address is used by spammers to send me emails that do not go through Comcast
I use a dedicated email address to allow Comcast to forward emails to my Gmail email to minimize the areas to read emails. This specific email address is not known to Gmail nor entered on any website. I do not forward the emails I receive as forwarded from Comcast. I have found several occasions where I receive email messages from spammers that are addressed to this Gmail email address which I would assume would be invisible to the reset of the world. I see others have had this same problem over the years but the solutions were to send the message to Comcast fraud department, but I think this is for Comcast emails.
My dilemma is not forwarding of emails but the use of an email address that is only posted on one website which is run by Comcast. I am making the assumption that Comcast has been hacked or they sold my email address. Either way, I would like a response about this issue from Comcast. I see several similar posts but it does not seem appropriate to send my Gmail messages to Comcast to research. Can I get some more direction on this topic as it has been happening for a couple of months and I have spent 4 hours on the phone with Comcast being told I do not know what I am talking about and left on hold for 30 minutes

The fact that you don't use an email address or put it around on the internet means little. Spammers can brute guess possible addresses. Once they have it, there is no way to stop them sending to it. Can you clarify-----do you mean you are forwarding a Comcast email account to the Gmail account?

Well, and here is a little useful spammer tool that's easy to script responses from. https://idm.xfinity.com/myaccount/lookup?execution=e1s1
I would request they handle this in another way, because all this does is leak email addresses.

Comcast offers a tool in their email application to forward emails to a personal email address. I have my Gmail email address inserted so I just have to look at one email application. Gmail offers a way to provide websites an email address that is unique to that website. I have that unique email address to show the word Comcast in it so I know the email address was gotten from Comcast and only Comcast. I realize that once it is out in the wild, control has been lost. I am just trying to notify other users and Comcast that they have a problem. Based on a review of the forum questions, others are reporting the same thing. Unfortunately Comcast does not seem to be addressing the issue.
