My Comcast email account won't load onto my iPhone 16 this week again
This happened to me like 5 months ago but then I got the account to load. I wasn't able to send email from it but I could receive email onto my phone. Last week, I stopped being able to receive or send Comcast email onto my phone (I get both my Comcast and Gmail on my computer and always have). I deleted the account from my settings after erasing and reentering my password with no improvement. Then I tried to add the Comcast account back to my mail options but the phone said "verifying" forever then "cannot connect using SSL" so I said try without it. It couldn't and said "SMTP server smtp.comcast.net is not responding." I called Apple Support and eventually talked to someone in "the Escalation department for tricky cases" who said the Server not working was a Comcast/Xfinity issue and the phone is fine.
I need to get my Comcast email on my phone, PLEASE HELP!

Hello, user_yk4ucj! Our team is here to help! One thing that comes to mind is a new setting within the Xfinity Email website. This update may impact your ability to access your Xfinity Email (Comcast.net) through third-party applications such as Outlook, Google Mail, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and others. We understand that many customers rely on these programs for convenience. However, they can sometimes pose security risks by potentially exposing your Xfinity ID and password and allowing external applications to read, download, or delete your emails without your direct input.
To help safeguard your information, we’ve added a new option under the Xfinity Email Security tab. If you are currently using a third-party email program, this setting is enabled by default to maintain uninterrupted access. If you are not using such a program, the setting remains disabled to provide an added layer of protection.
You may adjust this setting at any time by simply checking the box to enable access. This is something we'll want to check.
To do so:
Sign in to Xfinity Email using your Xfinity ID and password.
In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon, then select Settings.
Click Security.
Uncheck the box under Third Party Access Security to prevent third-party programs access to your Xfinity Email, or check the box to allow access.
We appreciate your understanding as we continue working to protect your privacy and provide a secure experience. I hope this information helps!
