messages deleted in Outlook are not being deleted off of Xfinity e-mail account. My settings are pop3/SMTP in order to utilize the colour coding of messages.

Do you have the option enabled in Outlook to keep a copy of the email on the server? See here---------

You may also need to make sure that the https://connect.xfinity.com/ setting for (gear icon) / Settings / Mail /Advanced Settings / POP Settings for Other Apps is set to Delete.
