mailto link registration

I am unable to use the xfinity mailto link registration in microsoft edge, selecting register now does nothing. I have disabled all extensions and have even added an exception in the site permissions / pop-ups and redirects settings. No matter what I do, When I select the register link, nothing happens.

Is edge://settings/content/handlers enabled?

@BruceW Thank you Bruce, when I checked the setting "Allow sites to ask to become default handlers for protocols (recommend)" it was already set to ON and surprisingly connect.xfinity.com was listed as a Handler for email links (the only one actually). What solved the problem was selecting to make it the default. That solved the problem. So while your suggestion was not the direct solution, it did however bring me closer to the solution, which was to select it as default. I thank you anyway.

@Supruser Microsoft Edge leaves much to be desired in many respects.  Try a different browser; if you can't do it in Chrome, try FireFox.

Hello, @Supruser. I am sorry that you have been having a hard time with the link. We want things to be easy and are glad that you reached out. I want to best help and need a touch of clarification. Are you trying to register a device to access your Xfinity email or something different?

Judging by your response, you must be either a tier 1 support personel, a new employee or you are inexperienced with the product. I believe my description and explanation is comprehensive and sufficient enough for an experienced technician to understand without additional "clarification".

@Supruser Did you try my suggestion above?  I don't know what it is with Edge but it often doesn't work with the webmail settings interface.  Trying a different browser may help.
