Mail Folder Sync
I got a new iPad, and set up my Comcast mail. When I opened mail on the iPad after set up, it fetched the loose mail in my inbox at Comcast, but it brought none of the mail folders from Comcast where the rest of my mail is organized.
How do I get the rest of the mail and it's respective folders to sync to the iPad?
when I had to delete my mail account on my iPhone, and reload it, EVERYTHING came over, including loose mail and folders...
thanks in advance!

IMAP is an email protocol. "Mail" is the email app that comes bundled with iOS. If you set up the account in iOS and let it auto-configure it for you, it will use IMAP because that is the default for Comcast email accounts. You shouldn't need to do anything manually after you input the user ID and password. So delete the account from the iPad, then recreate it again and let iOS configure it for you.

I've got an iPad but don't use Apple Mail. I use the Xfinity Connect app which syncs fine with all my devices accessing my email.

What app are you using for 'mail on the iPad'? If you're using the Xfinity Connect app, have you tried hitting the 'down arrow' next to Inbox?

Hi, using the mail that comes with the pad/phone. I guess it's called Apple mail. Went into settings, put in my Comcast info and mail happened!
I use the xfinity mail app to organize mail into folders, and it syncs with my iPhone. I may be missing a setting somewhere for the syncing. And I may not be able to sync with two different devices.
if that's the case, I'd prefer to sync with the phone, I guess, but was hoping to have past mail on the pad as well.

On the home screen, tap the email icon, and it should take you to "Mailboxes". Just scroll down and you should see any folders in the account as long as it was set up for IMAP, which is the default.

When I set up the iPad, the default was mail, not IMAP.
I tried changing it to IMAP, but the iPad wouldn’t receive anything.
Is there another receiving default that must be changed to make IMAP work?
