Login issues - possible hacking attempt

When I tried to log into xfinity email using the Google Browser on my Windows 10 PC this morning at this URL (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox), I was prompted for and provided my email address, but when I submitted it, after a moment, it sent me back to the prompt for providing my email address ... again. The second time I provided my email address to login, it prompted me for my password. I provided this, but instead of immediately logging me in, it sent me back to the password prompt to provide my password ... AGAIN. I didn't provide it this time and instead flushed cache in my browser, then tried to log in again.

I tried and got variations on this duplicate form on login problem (had to provide email address twice or had to provide password twice). This is either a technical bug or someone is trying to send a fake xfinity login page to harvest my credentials, but they're doing it poorly (it shouldn't require me to provide the information twice, it should just get my info and then log in with it invisibly.

Since I'm using my bookmarked login URL (see above), this would most likely happen if you have a DNS poisoning attack going on that's providing a spoofed login site instead of a real one.

Can you check into this? Since after multiple cycles of purging my cache and trying again EVENTUALLY got me to a successful login with only one request for email and one request for password, it seems to be sporadic, so it's more likely a bug than an attempt to harvest my credentials, but you should look into it.

Hi,

You're correct, but the problem was that I posted the wrong URL. Here's the one I should have posted: https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/#!!&app=io.ox/mail&folder=default0/INBOX

Greetings, @user_eub0ew! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about this unusual login activity.

It is definitely unusual for this to continue happening after clearing your browser cache, assuming you cleared data for "All time." If you are still encountering unusual activity like this, I would encourage you to reach out to our Customer Security Assurance (CSA) Team and see if they're aware of any similar incidents or threats. You can visit their web page at https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ or call 1-800-266-2278 between the hours of 8am and 12am (Eastern) and ask for the "CSA Team" by name.

It looks like it only occurred once, so I'm going to close out this post. Thanks for the feedback from everyone.

Isn't that URL for Gmail? The Xfinity webmail URL is https://connect.xfinity.com/.
