Issues with POP3 and IMAP receiving with Outlook and BlueMail

I see it all over this forum but I thought I would throw in my two cents.  It would be nice to get an answer to this.

Sending email with Outlook works just fine.  When receiving it asks me to input user name and password.  I do and click OK and it errors out.  This has happened once in awhile overe the years but always solves itself.  It has been happening again for the last month or so.  Magically one day it will work for a day or two, then it will start having issues again.  It might work for an hour here and there and then it will error out again.

It happens in Outlook using POP3 and Bluemail using IMAP.  Please don't tell me its settings as I stated it will magically start working for a bit and then start having issues again.

I did change my password the other day, it worked for about an hour, then boom, same issues.  You are a multi billion dollar company.  Why isn't this getting fixed?

For the most part comcast/xfinity email has worked for 20 years with Outlook with the occasional issue of asking for a username/password every time there is a receive command.  Again, sending has no issues, just the receiving.

Xfinity please reply with a fix for this.

Thanks

And look at that, not more than an hour after posting this, it worked.  And then to my surprise I walked away for 5 minutes, and now its not working again.  And no it's not my internet, i have 250 mbps and the only thing running is one streaming device.

Good morning @Borgieman, you can manage your Xfinity Email through third-party programs when the Access Security box is checked. If this box is unchecked, you’ll receive an error message when you try to set up your Xfinity Email through a third-party program.

Update email security settings

  1. Sign in to Xfinity Email using your Xfinity ID and password.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon, then select Settings.
  3. Click Security.
  4. Uncheck the box under Third Party Access Security to prevent third-party programs access to your Xfinity Email, or check the box to allow access.
I am an Official Xfinity Employee.

@XfinityJoe Then explain to me when I have not changed any settings, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't?  Now today it has been working most of the day, never asking me for a username or password.  Both outlook and bluemail.  Yesterday it worked about once.  Otherwise it always prompted me for username and password.  I would provide it, and it errored out.  On Bluemail syncing would fail.

In that time, not settings were changed anywhere.

@XfinityJoe Allow access to third party IS checked.  It has never changed.
