is there a way to highlight a block of emails in inbox

In outlook, you can highlight an email {in the inbox}, then hit control + another key to highlight a block of contiguous emails, for example to then delete a bunch of emails quickly.   Is there a way to do that with comcast/xfinity email inbox?

Hey atlantablonde13 I just tried in my own email inbox, and it looks like you need to use the checkbox on each email to select them, but they can all be deleted at once after that.

On a Windows or Mac desktop or laptop, yes. For a range of items, select the first item, then hold Shift and select the last item. All the items in between will be selected as well, even if they are on different "pages". To select multiple items in any order, hold Ctrl ("Command" on a Mac), then select each item.

I do not know how to do this on a phone or tablet.

@BruceW just to be clear, when you say "select the first item", you need to make the selection by using the checkbox, as well as when you use the Shift key.

If I hold Shift while clicking the Select box for the first item, the Select doesn't "take" -- the box isn't checked. The sequence I use is:

  1. Select the first item checkbox
  2. Hold Shift
  3. Select the last item checkbox
  4. Release Shift

@BruceW I wasn't saying to hold the shift on the first. The sequence you list is the same as the one that I use.

Thank you for reaching out to us @plummerld! Some Spam and Phishing emails verify if an email is active when the email address automatically downloads the attachments/images linked to the email. To disable this feature, please:

Select the gear icon in the top right corner of the Connect Site.
Select “Email Settings”.
Select “Security” in the top right corner of email settings screen.
Uncheck the “allow pre-loading of externally linked images”.

@XfinityAldrik I'm completely aware of this. This kind of comment from you simply highlights the fact that the real question is how is Comcast allowing these spam/phishing emails into the inbox in the first place. The last 3 weeks has brought over 800 spam/phishing emails to my inbox. Fewer than 5 percent have been detected as such, many times the one, is an exact copy of three others that were not detected. One spam/phishing email was a classic example of Comcast's pathetic failure in detection. It was equipped with sender of Xfinity, contained Xfinity word for word statements. It also contained quite a few misspellings!

@XfinityThomasA [Edited: "Inflammatory"] I have been forwarding every single email to "missed-spam@", as well as hitting "Mark as spam and report phishing". After 3 weeks of doing this, as I said the reduction of spams is in the noise. [Edited: "Inflammatory"].
