Is SMTP service still working for comcast.net?

I used to be able to send email via SMTP via comcast.net, but now it's stopped working. I've seen that I have to authorize this now (I checked that my account and password are correct). I can't seem to find this on the xfinity.com page. Can someone tell me how to do this?

When was the last time you logged into the website?  Are you able to receive mail?

• How are you trying to access your email? through the website or a third party email app like Outlook,Thunderbird, or Apple/Mac mail? or through a device like your phone, or iPad, etc.
• Are you getting any error messages, and if so what are they?
• Have you migrated to Yahoo! Mail? you'll need to login here: https://login.yahoo.com or https://mail.yahoo.com with your comcast.net credentials.
• If you're a new Comcast customer, you won't have a comcast.net email address.

The outgoing email for my comcast account, using smtp.comcast.net on my iPhone stopped working today. I have no problem receiving emails but outgoing emails just sit in the "outgoing" folder. When I tried reentering my password in the apple mail setting it just displays "verifying" endlessly now as if the server is not responding. Is the comcast server down?

Please give us the exact error message[s] you are getting so we can help pin point this.
