internet speed issue

Hi, I’m currently subscribed to a 1100Mbps plan, but for the past few weeks my internet speed tests have only been showing around 20–90Mbps. I’m paying a high monthly fee expecting to get around 1Gbps, but I’m not even getting 10% of that speed. This issue has been repeating for several weeks now, and I’m extremely dissatisfied. Even after restarting the gateway, the problem remains exactly the same.

Depends on the hardware you have. Presuming its Wifi, when you go into the Xfinity App to manage your hardware, does it identify as a booming connection? I have many devices on my network and their performance varies on the hardware inside the system and if the wireless protocol is capable of transmitting that much bandwidth. I can honestly say that only one of the devices in my husband and I apartment can identify as a booming device and gets Wifi Speeds of 600 to 800 while the average across all other devices in the house average 200 to 500 depending on conditions of what is going on at any given moment.

I know the higher end gaming laptops out there, have the Wifi Hardware with the possibility of transferring super speeds but requires capable hardware on both ends. Have you hardwired or can you to identify? Who knew, I actually was schooled by a friend who knows more about hardware than me that the type of speeds you get over ethernet depend on the cables used, length and so forth.

My advice is that of an intermediate user of technology in some things more than others so you can use that as a starting point to troubleshoot.
