inbound Gmail to Comcast

Gmail messages to my @comcast.net mailbox are being significantly delayed or not delivered.

This is specific to Gmail. Comcast-to-Comcast mail arrives normally, and mail from another provider to the same Comcast mailbox arrives almost immediately. Gmail mail to a different non-Comcast domain also delivers normally.

I tested both ordinary Gmail webmail and authenticated submission through smtp.gmail.com. Google accepted the SMTP submission successfully with 250 2.0.0 OK, and it appears in the Gmail Sent folder, but it has not reached my Comcast mailbox.

Example Message-ID:
<PHASE6B-GMAIL-COMCAST-FINAL-20260913004339@lind.ltd>

Google accepted it at approximately 12:43 AM EDT on September 13, 2026.

This is not a BL000000 blocked-IP issue and I am not the administrator of Google's sending IPs. Please check whether Comcast is throttling or temporarily deferring inbound Gmail/Google mail and route this to the appropriate email/Customer Security Assurance team.

Update: One of the delayed Gmail messages has now arrived.

Gmail created the message at approximately 12:56:31 AM EDT and Google had processed it by 12:56:42 AM EDT.

Google did not successfully hand it to Comcast until approximately 1:54:06 AM EDT, about 57 minutes later. Once Comcast accepted it, Comcast delivered it internally to my mailbox within the same second.

Comcast's authentication results show:

  • DKIM: pass (gmail.com)
  • DMARC: pass
  • SPF: pass
  • Xfinity classified it as legitimate (st=legit)

Can Comcast check its inbound SMTP logs to determine whether Google attempted delivery earlier and Comcast returned temporary 4xx deferrals/throttling responses before the successful 1:54 AM delivery?

The delayed message's Gmail Message-ID is:

<CAOP9hfXCYCDgVbTqspC0Ov+yYffUu23_RMKZCj8dxqU-_JYk4w@mail.gmail.com>

Hi, we are having the same issue. Have you been able to get in touch with anyone from Comcast? I'm trying to and the stupid AI chat bot just keeps telling me that the new comcast email service with Yahoo is rolling out and won't let me talk to a human.

Hey, I found at least a temporary fix. I'm on the phone with Comcast support and they are not being at all helpful but I found my own work-around.

If you go to advance settings and go down to spam filter, I clicked the option to override security filters and it is working for now. Probably not the ideal solution but at least seems to be working for now.
