inactive email

My comcast account has been forwarding to my gmail acccount for over five years. Apparently that is not sufficient to remain active, and I am no longer able to access my comcast email. When I log into my general Xfinity account, it shows my email as inactive and says "Your Comcast email has had no activity in the past 24 months. You can re-activate by accessing your email." When I click the associated "Go to inbox" link, it keeps redirecting me back to the Contact Us page. No matter how many different ways I try to access email, it keeps redirecting me back to Contact Us. I've tried talking to the AI bot, but that doesn't seem to understand anything. How do I reactive my account?

Hi there! Comcast inboxes are deleted if they are not logged into every 12 months (9 if you are no longer a customer). You should have received an email telling you that your email address was inactive and that you needed to log in. You have 90 days from the date of that email to log in and restore your email.

But the account page says "Your Comcast email has had no activity in the past 24 months. You can re-activate by accessing your email"?

Can the account be reactivated even if the email is lost?

This message is showing because the email inbox has been disabled, but you still have active service otherwise. To reactivate the email, it's best to speak with our Comcast Customer Security Assurance Team.

The Customer Security Assurance organization has been established to ensure a safe and secure online experience for Comcast customers. This team is a dedicated group of security professionals who respond to issues pertaining to phishing, spam, infected computers (commonly referred to as bots), online fraud and other security issues.
