IMAP Sync Error – Orphaned Folder “Lakewood Trace Court”

Hello,

I am requesting escalation to the Email Engineering / IMAP Backend Team regarding a persistent IMAP synchronization issue on my Comcast email account.

I have an orphaned IMAP folder on the server named “Lakewood Trace Court.” This folder:

  •           Does not appear anywhere in Xfinity Webmail
  •           Is empty
  •           Exists only as a hidden IMAP folder object on the server
  •           Continues to be pushed to Outlook during IMAP folder enumeration
  •           Causes repeated sync errors in Outlook

Here is the recurring error from Outlook’s Sync Issues log:

Error: 8004DF03‑0‑0‑560

Folder: Lakewood Trace Court

Location: Under the Trash folder (IMAP)

This confirms the folder still exists in the Comcast IMAP backend database, even though it is not visible or deletable in Webmail.

I have already:

  •           Removed and re‑added the IMAP account
  •           Rebuilt the Outlook profile
  •           Cleared cached data
  •           Verified the folder does not exist in Webmail
  •           Confirmed the issue persists across clean setups

This is a server‑side orphaned folder entry that must be removed manually by Comcast’s backend team.

Please escalate this to the Email Engineering / IMAP Backend Team and notify me once the issue has been resolved.

Thank you,

user_xukc6q Thanks for creating a post on our Community Forums. Unfortunately, our team here is limited with our access to assist with email issues like this, and would recommend speaking with our Customer Security Assurance Team, who has more abilities to handle email issues. They can be contacted by phone at 1-888-565-4329 and are available every day from 8:00 am - 12:00 am EST.
